Lots to share...

So, I have lots of things to shar with you and I'll begin with the FLIQS 2 quiltie I received from Melissa@HappyQuilting . I just LOVE it !!! It has all my favorite things, bright colors, rainbows and busy quilting !!! She did an amazing job and I'll treasure it !!! I'm sure this happy quiltie will bring a smile to my face every time I look at it, and that's priceless !!!

Melissa also included a cute note and fabric. Thank you sooo much for making me so happy !!!

Also you know I LOVE to play every month at the Bitty Block Committee and I LOVE the bitties I receive from talented quilters around the world. Last month the theme was circles and these are the bitties i made for my group.

And here's a close-up of one of them, that's going to live with Ruth.

They were first pieced and then needle-turn appliquéd in a circle shape.

And last, but not least, these are the coasters I made for my partner in the Potholder Pass12 Swap on Flickr . I made them following my partners color choices, and hope she likes them.

I love how they turned out, and think the color combination is really cute !

I hope you enjoyed my works !!!
Have a great day !!

Halloween Blog Hop, Day 6

Today's my day on the Halloween Blog Hop 'Something Whicked This Way Comes' hosted by Soma . Thank you sooo much, Soma, I couldn't have done this without your incredible help !!!

You probably know I LOVE Halloween and I LOVE Jack-o-lanterns, they are so fun !!! I've never carved one myself but love all the different interpretations that could be brought to life on them !!! Look at only a few...

Aren't they GORGEOUS ??!!!!! The last one with the kitty is my favorite !!!

Now you know where I'm going with this, right ?? Yes, my 10" x 10" block for the Halloween Blog Hop is a Jack-o-lantern, and here it is Happy Jack-O !!!

When I drew the pattern I thought it was complicated, but after making it I realised it's not !

I made a pattern with a white background, so you can print it and won't waste in printer ink ! The 10" size is wider than a A4 sheet so you'll have to attach the 2 parts. It's here

There's also the pattern with the color scheme and numbered pieces. It's here.

And then you have the pattern pieces with 1/4 seam allowance, as seen on the design. They are here.
When made, Happy Jack-O will look to the left.

And the pattern pieces with 1/4 seam allowance, mirrored placement. They are here.
When made, Happy Jack-O will look to the right, like mine.

I think I have a problem as I like things to the right, but for design purposes, you could like him looking to the left.

EDITED: the problem is fixed now, you can download the patterns. I'm so sorry for the problem, it was my first time uploading a file to Google Docs and I didn't know I had to click on the Share button for everyone to see the patterns.

Piecing instructions:

Attach parts A to E and set aside.
Attach parts I to J, and then attach part F to the top of them.
Then attach part G and H [in this order] to the right [to the left if you're making the mirrored version].
Attach part D to the left [to the right if you're making the mirrored version] touching parts F,I,J,G. Set Aside.
Now attach the part above formed by pieces D,F,G,H to part B. Set Aside.
Attach this whole part with B, D, F, G, H, I, J pieces to part C. Set Aside.
Finally attach this whole part with pieces A+E you set aside in the beginning.
And you're done !

Hope you enjoyed it and if you make it, please share it at the Halloween Blog Hop Flickr Group. We'd LOVE to see our creations made by you !!!

And don't forget to visit all the other blogs that participate in this Blog Hop !!! You can find them here !!!

Have a great day !!! And I hope I didn't bore you !!! LOL

My Finished FLIQS Quiltie

Here it is, finally finished and ready to be mailed as soon as I gather some extras for my partner. I enjoyed a lot making it and, although I've already made other quilts with this technique, I had never used a sewing machine, I always hand sittched the windows and that took ages !!! I'd highly recommend using the sewing machine, it was so much funn !!! And I still have my fingers on !!! LOL That is the best !!!

I LOVE how it turned out and would LOVE to keep it, but I'll honor my word
and will send it to its new owner.

Maybe I'll make one for me as my wall will miss it !!!
Have a great day !!

Bitty Side Swap with Sil

I must confess I'm obssessed with bitties (3.5" quilt blocks, unfinished) and I've been swapping them since the Flickr Group was created back in June 2010, I think. Sometimes I love a bitty and I'm not part of the group so we also arrange side swaps for those special bitties we love and wouldn't get otherwise. This time I'm side swapping Tree bitties with Sil, and these are the trees I made for her. Hope she likes them !

A Summer Tree.

A Cherry Blossom Tree.

A Rainbow Tree.

And a Winter Tree.

Here they are together !

Have a great day!

Fab Little Quilt Swap WIP

Hi, happy Sunday morning to all !!!

I'm taking part in the Fab Little Quilt Swap, a Flickr Group, and I'm making my partner's quiltie. Bright colors, rainbows and cathedral windows are some of the things my partner likes so I'm making a quiltie joining all of them in one place. I hope my partner likes it !!

I made the background last month and used some dark fabrics for the bottom of the windows.

And i'm using bright fabrics for the top. Here's a sneak peek of the windows WIP. The fun part begins !!

I love this technique ! Some day i'll make a pillow out of it for me !!
Have a great day !!

Crochet Flowers

Recently I tried to crochet for the first time as I've always loved it and I decided to try some simple flowers. I followed this tutorial (scroll down until you see the flowers) and this is my end result.

I LOVE them and they were really easy to do. I think I'll make lots of them in the future !!!
Hope you try them too, they'll be a great addition to any clothes or mini quilts perhaps.
Have a great day !!
