Okay, don't laugh, but a fun little tradition my family started was going to IHOP on Christmas Eve for pumpkin pancakes! They're open late, so after the Christmas Eve service at church we head on over. And the best part- leaving an extra large tip and making someone's day!

I super duper big heart Tilda, I have all her books even though I am not much of a sewer. But a girl has to dream and have something to motivate her to learn, right? Lovely fabric choice and so sweet of you to fill it already...hmmm...apple scented tissues now that sounds interesting!

Our Christmas tradition is to always have a really big brunch at my parents' house. My mom lays the table with her lovely holly berry plates and it's so festive. This is for my immediate family before the bigger extended family gathering and such a special time for just us.

It's more of a personal tradition, but we make a star for the top of our tree each Christmas Eve. It's always tacky, but I always love it.

We live in the middle of the United States in the state called Iowa. Our Chrismas is in the middle of winter. Our tradition for our family is to set out cookies for Santa, carrots for the reindeer and we put out a birthday card for baby Jesus (as he is the reason for the season)
We also do a lot of candy making! Our favorite (and well anticipated gift) is making caramel popcorn and drizzling white and milk chocolate all over it! YUM!
Blessings!

That is beautiful! Christmas eve candle light service at our church is my favorite Christmas tradition.

Jeannie D said...

When I was little, my mother (who is Irish) made candles for each of us to burn on Christmas Eve so that Santa could find his way. BUT! You had to be asleep before the candle went out or Santa might not come! I still do this with my son even though he is now 16!! I believe this is derived from an old Celtic tradition of lighting candles for children during the winter soltice.
